The General Education department understands the importance of assisting all students in obtaining an understanding of themselves, the society in which they live, and the physical universe. Students also need to learn how to communicate effectively in order to survive both economically and socially. We hope to provide students an opportunity to develop their powers of critical thinking and the skills and desire to become lifelong learners.
OTC recognizes the responsibility of providing an education that leads to the mastery of marketable job skills. These skills are complemented by a general education knowledge that provides the foundation for good employees and responsible citizens. Courses in communication, humanities, natural science, mathematics, and social sciences provide this foundation and are required for all associate degrees.
