Certified Nurse AssistantThis class meets the classroom and clinical requirements for Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to be a CNA.

Requirements:
-be 18 years of age and employable in a long-term care facility;

-must appear in person with photo identification no later than one week prior to the first day of class: read and sign Healthcare Agreement, pay for the non-refundable criminal background check & drug screen, and the class tuition;

-at the time of registration students will receive the Health Report form to have completed by a healthcare professional and turned in to the instructor on the first day of clas. This form is required for proving rubella immunity/immunization, TDAP immunization, flu vaccine if taking class in Spring or Fall,  and negative TB skin test performed within the previous six months. In addition, it requires a statement from a physcian that student is free from any contagious chronic illness;

-during first week of class, student will go online to pay application fee of $11 for Family Care Safety registry;

-by the end of the first two weeks of class, prior to clinicals, students will needthe following supplies: stethoscope, watch (with a second hand), light to medium colored scrubs (no print), white OSHA approved shoes and a gait belt.

There is no refund for healthcare classes for any reason, unless cancelled by the college. This is appropriate for those new to the healthcare field.

Hybrid classes take place online and in the classroom approximately every 2 weeks.

Upon completion of the class, student is eligible to take the final exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the state of Missouri. The exam is $125.

These classes are appropriate for those currently employed in a long-term care facility. There are no clinicals included in these sections. Book included in tuition.

Certified Medication Technician Program

Certified Medication Technician

This class prepares CNAs to become CMTs to work in long term care facilities.  Meets the requirements of the MO DHSS.  Final State Exam required ($125).  Nonrefundable fee for random drug screen.  Book included in tuition. No refunds unless class is canceled by OTC.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of WDH 102 and WDH 569. Must have been employed as a CNA for 6 months in Missouri, current CNA license, present a high school diploma or GED, a letter of recommendation from current or previous Director of Nursing, and pass the TABE test. Also must sign the Healthcare agreement.  Unemployed students have to have a criminal background check.

TABE Test
