Child Development Associate Certificate

The Community Enrichment Center provides this training module as a hybrid where students complete the majority of course work online with help from an instructor, and meet once as a seated class together during each module. Credential requires completion of all modules of course work, observation of work skills onsite, & submission of materials to the National Council. May begin on any module.

CDA Module 1

Environmental safety, family participation in the daycare setting, health/nutrition and ethics of the professional caregiver.

 

CDA Module 2

Child growth and development from infancy to school-age, program management, curriculum planning and teaching methods.

CDA Module 3

Review assessment tools of early childhood programs, child guidance, educational resources, classroom diversity, and children with special needs.

 

CDA Module 4

Literacy in the classroom, specific subjects of math, art, science and music as well as personal and professional development of staff.

 

CDA Observation Hours

Each CDA candidate is required to complete an authorized Observation from a credentialed instructor. To make arrangments for the observation contact the CDA after completing their modules. Student must register for the hours.
