PLAY DESCRIPTION
Feeling under the weather? Neil Simon's hilarious Broadway hit The Good Doctor is a prescription for laughter! Enjoy a series of comic sketches introduced by the Narrator (19th Century humorist Anton Chekhov) who is searching for his next great story.
A man sneezes on his boss and can't stop apologizing! A dental surgeon's apprentice tests his skills on a priest with an abscessed tooth! An out-of-work sailor charges admission to his own drowning! These sketches and more are delivered with the cleverness of Looney Tunes, and the hilarity of Monty Python! Neil Simon's The Good Doctor...It's what the doctor ordered!
CAST
Jessica Lankford - Jessica has been performing locally for the past eight years, most recently in David Ives' Sure Thing and Courtney Cook's Last Time at the OTC Student Showcase. She has also interpreted local theater for the deaf, and is pursuing a career in American Sign Language Interpreting.
Jack Royce - Jack Royce is a computer wearing tennis shoes. Dual-enrolled at Missouri State and OTC, Jack is an English major with a passion for world mythology. This is his first time performing at the Gillioz.
Gerald Sherwood - Gerald is an OTC student who lives to make people laugh; he has also been to Russia. While he is admittedly not an expert on Chekhovian comedy, he can lecture you to sleep on Soviet Montage.
Kathryn Westphale - Kathryn is studying film and is beyond thrilled to be involved with this production. Endless thanks go to her amazing friends and family who have continually supported her in fulfilling her dreams.
Matt Winston - Matt is studying theatre at OTC. The Good Doctor is his second play at the Gillioz, but it certainly won't be the last if he has anything to say about it.
PLAY DIRECTOR
Jon Herbert - Jon joined OTC as a theatre instructor in 2007. He has directed every spring play OTC has performed since the inception of the OTC Fine Arts department in 2007; Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Tartuffe, Arthur's Stone, Merlin's Fire: The Making of a King, and Our Town.
