43 Hour Block
43 Hour Block
During summer, 2000, the Coordinating Board for the Higher Education in Missouri approved a new general education transfer policy. This policy requires all participating institutions (public and private) in the state to designate a general education block consisting of at least 42 semester hours of credit which addresses 8 state-defined general education goals. Students who complete the 43 hour general education block at OTC may transfer to another participating institution and have their block treated as equivalent to the general education block of the receiving institution.
Once the appropriate classes have been finished for the 43 hour block, a student must complete and submit to Student Services a graduation application indicating he or she would like the 43 hour block posted to his or her transcript. While there is no fee to transcript the 43hour block, the paperwork must be in place before a transcript can be properly noted.
