What Makes Transcripts Official?

Part of the OTC enrollment process is to submit official high school or high school equivalency and college transcripts. Students may schedule STAR and register for their first semester of classes without official high school or high school equivalency transcripts on file.  However, without official copies on file, you will be ineligible for any financial aid disbursement.  Additionally, official copies must be on file prior to registration for a second semester of classes.  Students must have all official college transcripts on file prior to scheduling STAR and registering for their first semester of classes.

What Does Not Received, Incomplete, Non-Unofficial Mean?

Not Received: We have not received your official transcript.  Please submit.
Incomplete: We have received your transcript from your high school or state but your transcript did not include your graduation/completion date.  Please resubmit.
Non-Official: We have received your transcript but it was marked unofficial or came from an unknown or unofficial source.  To be considered official, your transcript must come from your high   school office, state department or institution by mail, fax, or hand delivery in the original sealed envelope.  Copies of the transcript from the student are not accepted.

 

High School Transcripts

Public or Private High School: To be considered official, your transcript must be sent from the high school or hand delivered to OTC in the original sealed envelope. Your transcript must have the graduation/completion date. Transcripts sent prior to graduation are always considered incomplete.

International High School: Your transcript must include your graduation/completion date. A translated copy may be required.

Home School: Your transcript must include your home address, list of courses, grades, graduation date, and signature of parent/guardian. Transcripts may be evaluated per state regulations.

High School Equivalency Transcripts (HSE/GED)

Missouri and Texas High School Equivalency:  We electronically verify your certificate.  If you completed your HSE from Missouri or Texas and it is not registering on your student account, please contact admissions@otc.edu with additional information. Click here to view your Missouri GED or HSE completion information.

GED123.ORG Transcripts:  Email admissions@otc.edu your verification code on your transcript.  We will use this code to electronically verify the completion of your GED.

Other State High School Equivalency Transcripts:  Contact the state in which you received your High School Equivalency and request your official transcript be sent to the Admissions Office.

College Transcripts

Public or Private College:  To be considered official, your transcript must be sent from the institution or hand delivered to OTC in the original sealed envelope.  Grade reports, degree audits, or advisor transcripts will be considered unofficial.  Transcripts marked unofficial by sending institution will not be accepted as official.

International College:  Contact registrar@otc.edu for more information.

Military, Advance Placement, and CLEP:  Copies may be presented and considered official.
