Transfer Credits
Transferring Credits into OTC (regionally accredited)
Courses successfully completed through another recognized regionally accredited institution that fulfill graduation requirements may be accepted and applied toward an Associate Degree or Certificate. Official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges/universities attended must be submitted to Ozarks Technical Community College for credit evaluation. Advanced Placement and Clep Test transcripts may also be submitted for evaluation.
- The final fifteen credit hours that fulfill general education or major requirements as listed by the student's selected Associate Degree program must be completed at OTC.
- Certificate programs will require the number of credit hours in residence proportional to the associate degree.
Transfer Credits into OTC (non-regionally accredited)
In order to properly evaluate credits from a non-regionally accredited institution we require students provide supporting documentation in addition to the official transcript. Students should easily be able to obtain documentation from the institution attended. Once collected, please contact the Transcript Evaluator, 417-447-6920, for further direction including contact information of the appropriate dean.
- Cover letter or email including the desired degree program and a list of courses being requested for evaluation
- Copy of the course syllabus form the semester the course was taken for each course the student wishes to have evaluated
- Course description from the semester the course was taken
- Faculty credentials for the faculty member who taught the course
- Official transcript
Once this information is received, it will be reviewed by OTC faculty members to determine equivalency and transferability. If you would like to further discuss the evaluation outcome contact the Transcript Evaluator at 417-447-6920 for a referral to the appropriate dean or faculty member.
Transfer Credits (international transcript)
Students who wish to have foreign coursework accepted for credit or as a prerequisite at OTC must have their foreign credits evaluated by an independent agency. The evaluation must include course descriptions explaining the course content of each class the student wishes to have considered for transfer credit. Common agencies include the following but please note not all offer course descriptions: Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (www.ece.org ), Education Evaluators International, Inc. (www.educei.com ), Educational Perspectives (www.educational-perspectives.org ), Global Credential Evaluators, Inc. (www.gceus.com ), International Academic Credential Evaluators, Inc. (www.iacei.net ), SpanTran Educational Services (www.spantran-edu.org ), or World Education Services (www.wes.org).
Transferring OTC Credits to Another Institution
In order to transfer OTC credits to another institution, you will need to submit a transcript request to have a copy of your OTC transcript sent to the receiving institution. For your convenience we offer links to the transfer equivalencies pages of some local colleges and universities.
