Graduation and Issuing Diplomas

Graduation & Issuing Diplomas

Congratulations!

Candidates for graduation must make formal application to the Registrar's Office for the degree or certificate they intend to receive even if you do not intend to "walk" in the graduation ceremony.

Applications for graduation are due:

  • April 1st to graduate after the Spring semester
  • July 1st to graduate after the Summer term
  • November 1st to graduate after the Fall semester

Steps in the Graduation Process

Review Degree Audit

Review your degree audit using the degree audit link under the AccessOTC tab in your MyOTC account.  Double check that the correct program of study is listed and that you have all courses required to complete your program.  If you have questions about your degree audit please contact your assigned advisor.

Application for Graduation

$30 Graduation Fee

  • If using MyOTC to complete the Graduation Application this fee will automatically be charged to your account.
  • If completing the paper Graduation Application please have the Cashier's Office initial that the fee has been paid prior to turning the form into Student Services.

Graduation Exit Assessment

Completing the graduation exit assessment(s) for your program of study is required for all graduates.  Testing days each semester are limited.  For many of the tests only three or four testing times are available each semester.  Please read about and schedule your exit assessment(s) at Graduation Exit Assessment Registration.  Failure to complete the exit assessment for your program of study will result in a hold placed on your account that will prevent the release of your final transcript and diploma.

Financial Aid Exit Counseling

All students graduating from OTC who have borrowed from the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFEL) are required to complete a student loan exit counseling.  Your diploma & transcripts will be held until you have met this requirement. Click here.

Commencement and After Graduation

Commencement

OTC holds commencement exercises once a year following the spring term. Students completing program requirements in the spring, summer and fall semesters are invited to participate in the ceremony. Please make certain that you apply for graduation whether or not you plan to attend the graduation ceremony.
