The food service industry is the focus of the Culinary Arts A.A.S. degree program (Option 1). Course offerings in food preparation, baking, pastries, purchasing, food safety and sanitation, along with supervision, combine theory and concept with demonstrations by chefs and hands-on practice.
The Baking & Pastry A.A.S. degree (Option 2) curriculum is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge required for employment in the baking and pastry industry. Course offerings include baking, pastries and food preparation techniques, purchasing, food safety and sanitation, along with marketing and supervisory course work. Employment opportunities include: restaurants, hotels, independent bakeries and pastry shops, wholesale and retail markets, and high-volume bakeries.
