Missouri Southern State University and Ozarks Technical Community College are partnering to provide training sessions on doing business with the government.  The training, which is specifically designed for small businesses in the Springfield area, will include seminars on how to locate and obtain contracts from local, state and federal government agencies/installations.

OTC and MSSU will also be providing one-on-one counseling by appointment to businesses through MSSU's Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  Heartland PTAC is funded in part by the Department of Defense, which administers the congressional program.  There are 90 procurement technical assistance centers throughout the country.

The first seminar, titled "Winning Government Contracts – The First Steps" will be presented on Friday, October 16, in room 10 of OTC's Center for Workforce Development, 614 North Washington Avenue in Springfield.  The session will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.; registration begins at 8:45 a.m.  MSSU and OTC are providing the seminar at no charge to the public.

To register for the first seminar, e-mail attendee name, company name and daytime phone number to CWD@otc.edu.  Space is limited.  For more information call Heartland PTAC at (417) 625-9538.
