The English as a Second Language class at Ozarks Technical Community College will hold a short tree-planting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day.  The ceremony will be held on the southwest side of the Springfield campus, near the corner of Chestnut Expressway and Sherman Avenue.

Instructor Fran Giglio donated the tree, a “Liberty Elm,” in honor of the English as a Second Language students’ contributions to the College and the community.  The ESL class will be present at the ceremony, and Giglio will speak briefly on the significance of the elm tree to America and to the ESL students.
