Ozarks Technical Community College English Instructor Barrie Talbott has been awarded the 2009 Higher Education Educator award from the Missouri Distance Learning Association (MoDLA).  This is the first year the award has been given; Talbott was competing with college and university instructors from across the state that teach online or other types of distance education courses.

“Being chosen for this award, especially in its first year, is quite an honor,” said Witt Salley, Ozarks Technical Community College’s director of Online Teaching and Learning.  “We are proud of Barrie for representing the College so well and for setting a model of excellence for other online instructors here at OTC and across the state.”

An affiliate of the United States Distance Learning Association, MoDLA is Missouri’s premier organization for online teaching and learning.  The Higher Education Educator award is one of several given by the organization to honor contributions to distance learning.
