Graduates and alumni of Ozarks Technical Community College can now transfer seamlessly to Missouri Southern State University to continue their education.

MSSU President Dr. Bruce Speck and Dr. Shirley Lawler, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs representing OTC Chancellor Dr. Hal Higdon, signed a memorandum of understanding Wednesday that allows OTC students and alumni with an Associates of Applied Science or Associate of Science to transfer to MSSU to earn their Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

The agreement was signed in the Board of Trustees room on the OTC Springfield Campus.

“We are pleased to enter into this partnership with MSSU. It allows OTC graduates and alumni to continue their educational career at Missouri Southern State University,” said OTC Chancellor Dr. Hal Higdon. “We are constantly looking for new educational opportunities with four-year institutions that benefit our students.”

"Ultimately, these sorts of agreements come down to one thing - how our institutions can work together to maximize a student's college experience," said MSSU President Dr. Bruce Speck. "OTC has been a wonderful partner and shares our mission of making a college degree attainable for students."

“MSSU has some programs that we want to give our students an opportunity to seamlessly transfer into. Their Allied Health facilities are some of the best in the region and will be of great benefit to our students attending MSSU,” said Dr. Lawler.

OTC students are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by MSSU. Information is available at www.mssu.edu.
