With fall classes beginning today, enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College has increased once again.  A total of 14,056 students are enrolled this fall, 9.4 percent higher than the fall of 2009.  Enrollment is up by nearly 6 percent at the Springfield campus, with 9,371 students taking classes this fall.  Online enrollment continues to grow dramatically:  a total of 4,256 students are taking at least one class online.  The number of students taking the majority of their courses online has increased to 1,777, up almost 19 percent from last fall.

“The consistent, dramatic growth of our student population demonstrates that there continues to be a high demand for the flexible and accessible education and training that we offer,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College.  “This year, we have also been working to improve our services outside the classroom, including the completion of our new parking lot in the former Tindle Mills location, in order to ensure that the College is as accessible, safe, and welcoming as possible for our students.”

The Richwood Valley campus has 1,198 students enrolled, an increase of 10 percent.  The Lebanon Education Center is up by 28 percent, with 608 students enrolled, and the College’s Branson Education Center is serving 455 students this semester, up more than 8 percent from last fall.  The Waynesville Education Center welcomed 335 students today, an increase of nearly 59 percent.
