Summer classes begin with enrollment up 12.2% from 2009

A total of 4,495 students are enrolled this summer, 12.2% percent higher than the summer of 2009. While every location has experienced noticeable growth, the majority of students are enrolled at the Springfield campus, which welcomed 2,133 students today, up 10.5% from last summer.
“We continue to grow simply because people continue to need what we offer,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College. “If you need additional skills, a better job, or even a new career, we can help you to reach those goals quickly and affordably.”
Enrollment is up by 22.8% at the College’s Richwood Valley campus, with 232 students taking classes this summer. Online enrollment has increased by 9.1%, with 1,744 students taking online classes. The Branson Education Center is up 34.7%, with 136 students, and the Lebanon Education Center is up 30.2% with 164 students. The College’s Waynesville Education Center is up 57.8%, with 71 students enrolled for the Center’s second summer semester.
