Mr. John Curtis - Educational Specialist
Mr. John Curtis
John Curtis is an Educational Specialist with the OTC Middle College. He works with the staff and administrative team for the Middle College interviewing new students, checking on attendance issues, working on various projects that need to be accomplished for the daily operations as well as facilitating the Middle College's intervention classes. Mr. Curtis was a high school dropout who has experienced many careers from recording artist, retail management, the manufacturing field, to owning his own construction company. In 2006, Mr. Curtis began attending Ozarks Technical Community College where he completed his general education requirements attaining an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa a national honors society for community colleges. He then transferred to Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in History, certified to teach secondary school social studies in 2010. He serves as an inspiration to the students of the Middle College as an example of what they can accomplish themselves. Three days after graduation, he was hired to teach in the Middle College where he taught social studies for the next two semesters. In the fall of 2011, he was hired full time to work in the office and oversee the students in intervention classes. In his free time, Mr. Curtis serves on the Rogersville Planning & Zoning Board and loves spending time on the various hobbies such as restoring his Volkswagen Bug and vintage Porsche.
