(D1) Higher education experience; (D2) Experience teaching financial education classes; (D3) Computerized accounting systems experience; (D4) Experience with project implementation and management; (D5) Experience with document imaging processes

Position Description

Position Title: Student Financial Operations Manager

Salary Classification: Exempt

Responsibilities:

The Student Financial Operations Manager is responsible for all cashiering operations of the college. The Operations Manager performs work requiring independent judgment; recognizes and maintains confidentiality of work materials as appropriate; understands and carries out verbal and written directions; and can work independently in the absence of supervision, using initiative and judgment in dealing with workflow and uncertain situations. The Operations Manager exemplifies outstanding customer service in all activities. 

Authority:

Operates under the delegated authority and supervision of the College Director for Student Financial Services.

Duties:

1. Responsible for the oversight of cashiering operations at all OTC locations
2. Assist with training staff members on cash handling procedures
3. Works with College Director to develop and implement quality operational procedures for all college locations
4. Monitors procedures regarding cash handling for the college
5. Responsible for vault operations and accuracy at all college locations
6. Balances and prepares daily bank deposits, as needed
7. Verifies cashier drawers as needed for internal control
8. Responsible for auditing vaults at all college locations monthly
9. Provides oversight for transmittal and distribution of student financial aid refunds
10. Handles customer service issues
11. Counsels students and provides account activity explanations
12. Chairs the Fee Appeal Committee
13. Assist in the oversight of accounts receivable reconciliations
14. Works with College Director to develop and implement policies and procedures regarding cashiering and accounts receivable operations
15. Responsible for implementing and managing Cashier Services operational projects
16. Assist with the college collection processes
17. Manages communication processes for Cashier Services
18. Teaches Financial Literacy classes in classroom settings and at appropriate college events
19. This employee is considered essential personnel for the Finance Office
20. Willingness to travel between all OTC locations on a regular basis
21. Responsible for operational functions in regards to all third party vendor processing
22. Works with Coordinator to ensure quality service is provided to students and employees
23. Monitors student accounts and fee assignments regarding student account billing, works with College Director to ensure billing accuracy
24. Flexibility in work hours based on office needs Performs other duties as assigned
25. Participates in end of year audit processes
26. Works with Coordinator to manage all aspects of Private External Scholarship processing
27. Manages Cashier Services imaging processes and projects
28. Performs other duties as assigned
