Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory

(M1) Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related program from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning or 4 years of object oriented programming experience; (M2) 2 years of experience supervising team of programmers; (M3) Significant experience in a modern programming language such as Java, .NET or C# (Applicants may be required to demonstrate programming proficiency); (M4) Experience with relational databases; (M5) Effective communication skills

Desirable

(D1) Master Degree in Computer Science or a related program from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning; (D2) Experience with Ellucian (formerly Datatel) Colleague; (D3) Experience with federal financial aid regulations; (D4) Work experience in Higher Education

Position Description

Position Title: Assistant Director of Administrative Computing/ Programmer Analyst

Salary Classification: Exempt

Responsibilities:

Supervises the Administrative Computing programming staff. Assists in the research, development, implementation, and maintenance of the college’s Student Information System (Ellucian Colleague). Assists with project management and prioritization.

Authority:

Operates under the delegated authority and supervision of the Director of Administrative Computing and Technical Services.

Duties:

1. Manages day-to-day operation of the Administrative Computing department.

2. Supervises programming staff.

3. Analyzes and installs maintenance patches to SIS and related systems.

4. Establishes system security, maintains parameters, and controls the setup of the system.

5. Coordinates department projects with supervisor and other areas of the college.

6. Determines work priorities.

7. Manages and assigns work orders.

8. Evaluates effectiveness of current computer operations.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.
