Center for Health Education

The need for qualified, well-trained health personnel continues to be in high demand in the Ozarks and the state. Thee Missouri Economic Research and Information Center lists nursing, therapy specialists and home health care aides among its top jobs that need to be filled in the state in the coming years.

In this region, there are hundreds of nursing positions open and it's our institutional obligation to help produce the workforce needed to fill those ranks. Graduates of our Allied Health programs - from nursing and dental hygiene to physical and occupational therapies - are filling this need.

With the creation of a Center for Health Education, the College will continue to strengthen the educational opportunities for students and expand program offerings to meet the needs of area health institutions seeking exceptionally well - trained health care professionals.

With support for the Center for Health Education, the College plans to:

  • Construct a dedicated health education facility
  • Provide the necessary high-tech equipment needed to train health care students
  • Purchase new technologies for health care programs
  • Provide professional development training for health care faculty and staff
  • Develop and customize new curricula that respond to the needs of area employers
  • Establish technology-rich simulation systems and demonstration laboratories
  • Establish an endowed chair in the Allied Health programs
