Center for Health Education
Center for Health Education
The need for qualified, well-trained health personnel continues to be in high demand in the Ozarks and the state.
The Missouri Economic Research and Information Center lists nursing, therapy specialists and home healthcare
aides among its top jobs that need to be filled in the state in the coming years.
In this region, there are hundreds of nursing positions open and it's our institutional obligation to help produce the workforce
needed to fill those ranks. Graduates of our allied health programs - from nursing and dental hygiene to physical and
occupational therapies - are filling the job ranks after graduation.
With the creation of a Center for Health Education, the College will continue to strengthen the educational opportunities for
students and expand program offerings to meet the needs of area health institutions seeking exceptionally trained healthcare professionals.
With support for the Center for Health Education, the College plans to:
- Construct a dedicated health education facility
- Provide the necessary high-tech equipment needed to train healthcare students.
- Purchase new technologies for healthcare programs.
- Provide professional development training for healthcare faculty and staff.
- Develop and customize new curricula that respond to the needs of area employers.
- Establish technology-rich simulation systems and demonstration laboratories.
- Establish an endowed chair in the Allied Healthcare program.
