Application Deadlines
If your FAFSA was selected for Verification, the verification process must be completed before your loan will be processed.
Approximately 30-40% of all financial aid applications are selected for verification by the Federal Financial Aid processors. If this happens to your financial aid application, you will be required to submit additional documentation. (If additional documentation is needed, you will be informed through the U.S. postal service.) Once you have submitted the requested additional documents, your file will be reviewed in the order your documents were received. We do not determine who is selected for verification and there is no way for us to expedite this process. This verification process can add an additional 8-12 weeks to your financial aid processing time before you receive your award letter. Verification information is only required if the U.S. Department of Education requests the college to collect income documents from the student/family. Note: Loan applications received by the priority deadline will be given first consideration for processing in order to allow earliest possible distribution of loan funds. Applications are processed based upon receipt date and completion of financial aid file. Afterwards, files are processed in accordance to completion date.
