OTC Institutional Scholarships

Institutional Scholarships

The following scholarships are designed to fit varying needs of OTC students. So, whether you are completing a GED, re-entering college, or graduating high school, there are scholarships you can apply for at OTC. Application for any scholarship does not guarantee a scholarship award will be made.

Scholarships for High School Graduates
Scholarship recipients must enroll at OTC the fall semester following their high school graduation. A+ Program students are not eligible for OTC Institutional Scholarships, however; application may be made for OTC Foundation Scholarships.

Ambassador Scholarship
Enroll at OTC as a full-time student with a cumulative 2.75 grade point average or higher. Represent OTC at various functions such as college fairs, College Day, and provide tours of the campus. Student must provide two letters of reference. This scholarship award provides the equivalent of in-district tuition for up to 15 credit hours and common student fees. Application deadline is June 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Trustee’s Scholarship
In-district high school graduates that meet two of the following criteria: a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or higher, rank in the top 10% of your graduating class, or a composite score of 25 or higher on the ACT. This scholarship award provides the equivalent of in-district tuition for up to 15 credit hours and common student fees. Application deadline is April 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

First Place State Scholarship
OTC Career Center student who participates in a career-technical student organization and wins First Place at state competition during the current school year and has a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher. This scholarship award provides the equivalent of in-district tuition for up to 15 credit hours and common student fees. Application deadline is May 1 for Fall semester..

President’s Scholarship
In-district high school graduates that meet two of the following criteria: a cumulative 3.3 grade point average or higher, rank in the top 25% of graduating class, or a composite score of 22 or higher on the ACT. This scholarship award provides $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship is prorated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is April 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Principal’s Scholarship
In-district high school graduates that have a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher, recommended by their principal based on community service, school involvement, leadership, and potential to succeed at OTC. This scholarship award provides $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship is pro-rated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is April 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Service Area Scholarship
High school graduates in the OTC service area that have a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher, recommended by their principal based on community service, school involvement, leadership, and potential to succeed at OTC. This scholarship award provides $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship is pro-rated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is April 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Director’s Scholarship
Scholarship for OTC Career Center student graduating from high school. Additional qualifications may be required by each OTC Career Center program. This scholarship award provides $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship is pro-rated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is May 1.

Technical School Director’s Scholarship
Applicant must be recommended by the director of the technical school attended. Must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average from a technical school that articulates with OTC. Student must have been involved in community service, school, and leadership activities. The scholarship award provides $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship is pro-rated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is May 1.

Scholarships for Non-Traditional Students

GED Scholarship
Student must reside in the OTC service area. A minimum GED score of 2900 is required to apply. Scholarship award is $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship award is prorated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is June 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Continuing Student Scholarship
Student must have a cumulative minimum 2.5 grade point average in OTC coursework, and must have completed a minimum of twenty-four (24) credit hours at OTC. Student must submit an essay explaining, “How OTC has helped them achieve their goals?”. Scholarship is good for two semesters (Fall/Spring only). Scholarship award is $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship award is prorated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is June 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

Re-entry Scholarship
Student must have not attended a college/university or high school for at least one academic year. If student has attended college previously, they must have 20+ transfer credit hours with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Applicants with less than twenty transfer hours must take the COMPASS placement test at OTC. The student must have minimum placement scores of: Math=39, Writing=70, Reading=80. Scholarship award is $900 per semester for full-time enrollment. The scholarship award is prorated for less than full-time enrollment. Application deadline is June 1 for Fall semester, November 1 for Spring semester.

How to Apply for Institutional Scholarship

  • Apply for admission to Ozarks Technical Community College
  • Complete an OTC Institutional Scholarship Application or acquire an application in the OTC Student Services offices.
  • When applicable, attach an essay to your scholarship application that addresses the following topics: personal profile, educational and career goals and financial need.
  • Have your official high school and/or college transcripts on file at OTC with rank, grade point average, and ACT scores.
  • All information must be submitted or postmarked by applicable deadline for the fall semester and spring semester.
  • All scholarship recipients will be notified by mail of any awards.
  • Scholarship awards are nontransferable and may affect eligibility for other financial assistance.
  • Unless otherwise noted, scholarships are renewable for three additional semesters to students who maintain a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher in their coursework at OTC.
  • Cessation of enrollment will cause a loss of scholarship.
  • OTC Institutional Scholarships are not available for the summer term.
  • You can only receive one OTC Institutional Scholarship per semester
