Graduation Exit Assessment Requirements and Registration

Graduation Exit Assessment Registration

Many programs of study require an exit assessment prior to graduation.  Each student should check his or her degree audit to determine if an assessment is required.  Registration for an exit assessment may be done online in MyOTC in the same place as regular course registration.

Associate of Arts in Teaching

Students seeking an Associate of Arts in Teaching are required to take the MoGEA.  This assessment is used to evaluate how well OTC is meeting instructional goals and is required by the State of Missouri Department of Education. A passing score must be achieved on this exam in order to receive your AAT degree. This requirement can also be met if you have already passed all sections of the CBASE exam prior to November, 2013. The cost of the MoGEA is $74 and is to be collected in 2 payments.  The first payment of $49 is required when a student registers for the test at this site: www.mo.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/MO001_TestPage.html. The second payment of $25 is made to our Cashier's Office for the sitting fee.  The receipt obtained through the Cashier's Office is to be taken to Testing Services on the day of the scheduled test. Register to take the MoGEA and find more information about the test through Testing Services at www.otc.edu/testing.

Technical Programs

Students seeking an Associate of Applied Science Degree or Certificate in a technical program of study are required to take a Technical Skills Assessment (TSA).  These assessments are used to evaluate how well OTC is meeting its instructional goals and is required by the State of Missouri Department of Education. Technical Skill Assessment is unique to your program and the requirement may vary.  Some Technical programs offer testing within certain courses which satisfies this requirement and some certificate levels may not require the TSA until the AAS level. All technical students should check to see if this assessment is required for their program by checking their degree audit.  If an additional TSA assessment is required outside the classroom, they will be asked to register for TST-004.  Any students who have completed program assessment within a course, or have questions about TSA requirements should contact hamiltol@otc.edu

Business and Accounting Programs

Students seeking an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business & Marketing or Accounting are required to take the Applied Skills and Knowledge (ASK) exit assessment.  This assessment is designed specifically to test competencies and skills related to these degrees that are valuable to both the student and the employer. Students should register for TST-006.

Associate of Arts & Allied Health Programs

Students seeking an Associate of Arts degree or an Allied Health degree or certificate are not required to register for a seperate exit assessment.
