Position Description:

Description & Responsibilities:

Responsible for care of lawns, trees, and shrubs; snow and ice removal; removal of trash and debris; and care and maintenance of equipment used to carry out these tasks. Operates under the delegated authority and supervision of the Director of Facilities and Grounds

Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

1. Performs seeding and weed control in lawn areas.

2. Applies chemical feeding and pest control.

3. Perform landscaping duties.

4. Plants, trims and provides pest control for trees and shrubs.

5. Removes ice and snow from walkways, steps and parking areas.

6. Keeps campus areas, especially building entries, parking lots and lawns, free of trash and debris.

7. Provides routine care and maintenance for mowing equipment, trimmers, saws, hand tools, etc.

8. Properly disposes of hazardous chemicals or waste.

9. Properly stores and inventories supplies within assigned area and notifies supervisor of deficiencies.

10. Inventories incoming orders, notes all discrepancies, and turns in packing slips.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
