Position Description:
Job Title: Assistant to the Floating Custodian
Title:
Description & Responsibilities:
Assisting the Floating Custodians performance of his/her normal custodial duties while the buildings are occupied with normal operation, using established procedures and guidelines. Floating custodians also move the furnishings and equipment as needed, due to special events or to facilitate cleaning.
Acts under the delegated authority and supervision of the Floating Custodian, Coordinator of Custodial Services or the Facilities Operation Officer.

Requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Check and clean dirty tables in the student center.
- Rearrange chairs and tables after use.
- Check vending area for spills, mop if needed.
- Empty trash into dumpster.
- Mop up any spills.
- Insure wet floor markers are set out in wet weather.
- Sweep entry way after classes start.
- Ensures that restrooms, locker, and shower rooms are clean and sanitary.
- Removes all trash and debris from his/her assigned area.
- Follows all manufactures' safety recommendations when using cleaning chemicals
- Responds to emergency situations that could lead to property damage or personal injury.
- Reports damage to college property.
- Uses personal protective equipment when cleaning and using chemicals.
- Maintains reliable attendance and understands daily staffing requirements.
- Understands and follows departmental safety rules and regulations.
- Stops procedures that may be hazardous to students or visitors as they come into the assigned work area.
- Performs other dties as assigned.
