Description & Responsibilities:
The student will assist the classroom teachers in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up learning centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies. Teacher assistants will have teh opportunity to interact with children in both group settings and on an individual basis. Students will also assist in the supervision of classrooms and outdoor activities and help with the general housekeeping tasks within the classroom and the center.
Peform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:
Work Experience:
Must enjoy working with and interacting with young children and their families, as well as with college lab students
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to pass a Tuberculin skin test and a physical exam
Must register with the Family Care Safety Registry and pass the background screening
Education:
Early Childhood Development or Education major or emphasis preferred. Early Childhood Development majors will receive first priority. Due to accreditation requirements, applicants must be enrolled in or taken a course within the last year in either childhood development, education or a related field.
