Description & Responsibilities:
- The student assistant conducts him or herself in a professional manner and in accordance with OTC policies.
- The student assistant welcomes students and other guests to the Speckman TLC, reminds students as needed to sign-in and sign-out of tracking software, checks materials in and out and helps the student connect with appropriate staff and services.
- The student assistant seeks to encourage and build student esteem and shows respect to all students.
- The student assistant freely seeks assistance from staff whenver he/she has the least uncertainty about responding to a student's need or question.
- The student assistant answers the telephone and connects the caller with appropriate staff or answers questions according to his/her training.
- The student assistant is supervised by the TLC Director, Secretary, and Faculty members (The TLC is open 60 hours per week and supervision rotates among these people. As such, good communication with these supervisors is crucial.
- The student assistant keeps his/her supervisor informed on any schedule conflicts (giving a minimum of two day notice if at all possible).
- The student assistant assists all members of the TLC in the duties needed. These include, but are not limited to: making copies, typing documents, sorting files, and light cleaning of break room.
- The student assistant is unctual in filling his/her assigned scheduled times.
- The student assistant must perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired - Experience working in an environment that required good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as detail-oriented procedures.
Education:
Must have good communication skills. There are no other education requirements.
