BASIC RIDER COURSE -(BRC) BEGINNER COURSE

All Classes held Fri 6-9pm; Sat and Sun 8am-5pm on dates listed below
The Basic Rider Course is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills for people who have never ridden, as well as those who have ridden up to 10,000 miles. The BRC consists of 18 hours of instruction. Motorcycles and helmets are provided.
Non-motorcyclists can benefit from this course by learning on a first-hand basis what a motorcyclist experiences, and the necessity for developing respect for all vehicles on the roadway.
The novice or occasional rider can benefit in the areas of skill development with emphasis on control and operational aspects essential for survival as a street rider.
Because the BRC course can be taken in lieu of the range-riding portion of the Department of Revenue license examination. Successful completion of a written and skill evaluation is required to pass the course. Those who successfully complete the course will be issued a completion card from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program, which is recognized by many insurance companies for premium discounts.

EXPERIENCED RIDER COURSE - ERC
6 Hours $75
All Classes held Saturdays 8am-3pm on dates listed below
The Experienced Rider Course is intended for those who have considerable motorcycle riding experience. This course is primarily designed to increase your present skill level and develop a greater awareness of perceptual skills. Specifically trained instructors will lead you through six hours of Skills practice, and discussion on the range.
The physical and psychological aspects of rider conditioning are considered, as well as special concerns such as emergencies, adverse conditions and accident avoidance. Examples of specific course content include: higher speed steering, cornering, counterweighing, traction awareness, and braking. Other course time is devoted to motorcycle dynamics: wind effects, tire characteristics, and load distribution.
For the ERC course, you must provide your own motorcycle, helmet, and eye protection. All motorcycles must pass the student pre-ride inspection and the instructor safety inspection. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a course completion card, which may entitle you to receive a discount on motorcycle insurance through select companies.
