Becoming a Literacy Volunteer Tutor

Volunteers first need to complete an online volunteer tutor application. Volunteers complete an orientation and training program with all instructional material supplied at no cost. Upon completion of the training you will be registered with the State of Missouri as a Literacy Tutor. Volunteers and students meet at Adult Education and Literacy class sites during regular hours. Volunteers' schedules depend on areas of interest and student needs. Most tutors volunteer an average of 2-3 hours per week.
