Career Center Counseling and Assessment (High School Students)
Career Exploration: High School Students
OTC's Career Center Counseling and Assessment staff assists area high school students in making informed decisions about education, as well as career and employment options. Through use of in-depth assessments and online career research tools, students can explore career interests, link jobs to appropriate training programs, identify talents and abilities, and identify their vocational strengths and develop strategies to improve their weaknesses. This time-efficient (typically less than one full day) career planning resource gives students a better understanding of the relationship between their interests, abilities, and the world of work.

At the conclusion of the assessment, a professional counselor presents results in a way that is easy for the students to understand and use. A detailed report is made available to the student, their high school counselor or referral agent, and their parent or guardian. With this information they too may help the student apply the information they have learned through the assessment process.
This service is highly recommended for high school freshman, sophomores, as well as those planning to enroll in one of OTC's many secondary programs. Students from Career Center participating school districts are eligible to participate in comprehensive career planning, information, and support services at no cost to the student or parent.
