Types of Behaviors to Report
What Behaviors Should I Report?
OTC employees and students are to report all incidents of student behavior that are unusual or alarming to the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). See the Student Concern/Incident Report form to report an incident.
Report the following behaviors:
- Classroom disruption
- Drunkeness in the classroom
- Threatening words or actions
- Writings that convey clear intentions to harm self or others
- Observed self-injurious behavior (cutting, burning, etc.)
- Threatening online postings in Facebook, MySpace, etc.
- Excessive class absenteeism
- Acts motivated by hatred or discrimination
- Paranoia (student groundlessly believes they are being stalked)
- Stalking
- Relationship violence
- Hazing or Bullying
- Flat effect or extreme lack of responsiveness
- Harassment
- Suicidality including following:
- Threats (I'm going to kill myself)
- Gestures (erasing one's hard drive, giving away belongings, etc.)
- Ideation (I've always thought about killing myself)
- Attempts
