Marge Bell is the Program Coordinator for the Dental Hygiene program. Marge is a graduate from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park with an AAS in Dental Hygiene. Marge continued her education at Baker College in Flint Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, with honors. She also holds a certificate in Gerontology. Marge had been in private practice general dentistry for 22 years and had developed a dental hygiene care program for nursing home residents and homebound patients. Marge has served as Springfield Dental Hygienists' Association president, Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association board member, Springfield Dental Foundation board member, and OTC's advisory board member for the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs. She is currently a board member for the Children's Smile Center and a member of ADHA, MDHA, SDHA, ADEA, MCCA and MOSAHOE. Marge was voted Missouri's Outstanding Dental Hygienist in 1998. Marge has worked as faculty for OTC dental programs since 2001.
Dr. Gary Dollens graduated from Missouri State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. He continued his education at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City , Missouri where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). After dental school, he worked for the United States Public Health Service in the Federal Bureau of Prisons for eight years as a staff dentist. In 1999, he moved back to Springfield and has been in private practice for the past eight years. He joined the OTC faculty as an adjunct instructor in 2006 and as fulltime instructor and Supervising Dentist in 2007. Dr. Dollens is a member of ADEA, MoACTE, and MCCA.
Janet Sell is the Program Coordinator for the Dental Assisting program. Before becoming a dental assisting instructor, she practiced as a clinical dental assistant in the setting of two group practices in Springfield, Missouri. Janet graduated from Kansas City College of Dental Assisting and holds a Bachelor and Master's degree from Drury University, and an Associate of Applied Science from Ozarks Technical Community College. As a Certified Dental Assistant, she has served on many professional organizations for over 15 years, including the Missouri Dental Assistant’s Association, the Springfield Dental Assistant Association, and the Missouri Dental Assisting Educators. Janet has directed and participates in numerous continuing education seminars for the dental team at local and state levels. Her interests also include supervising Student Government Association activities. Janet serves as a curriculum consultant for the American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation and has an appointment with Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary education at Central Missouri State University as an instructor for New Teacher Institute.
Ida Guynn graduated from Graff Vocational-Technical Center in 1982 from the Dental Assisting program, is a certified Dental Assistant, and has Expanded Functions cerftificates. Ida has worked in private practice for the past 26 years. She has held offices in the Missouri Dental Assistants' Association and the Springfield Dental Assistants' Society. Ida is currently a member of the American Dental Assistants' Association and Missouri Community College Association. She is currently continuing her studies toward a bachelor's degree through Ozarks Technical Community College and Drury University. Ida has worked as a faculty member for OTC dental programs since 2007.
Lisa Hunter is a graduate from Drury University holding a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Biology and Wellness Science. Lisa continued her education graduating from Ozarks Technical Community College Dental Assisting Program, with honors, as an Expanded Function Certified Dental Assistant. She then pursued her AAS degree in Dental Hygiene from OTC, with honors, and is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Upon graduating, she was voted Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association "Most Outstanding Graduating Student." Lisa has worked in private practice both in Branson and Springfield and also as an educational consultant for area dental offices. Lisa serves locally as President of the Greater Springfield Dental Hygienists' Association and as a member of the OTC Dental Advisory Board. She is also active on the state level as a Board of Trustee for the Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association. Lisa has volunteered her time on the Millwood Children's Charity committee for over eight years. She is a member of ADHA, MDHA, GSDHA, SDHA, ADEA, MCCA, and MoSAHOE. Lisa joined OTC in 2007 as an adjunct instructor for the Dental Hygiene program and full-time faculty for both dental programs in 2008.
Lindsay Mather graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Ozarks Technical Community College, becoming a Certified Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions. She graduated with honors, being voted “Most Outstanding Dental Assisting Student.” She continued her education at Ozarks Technical Community College through the Dental Hygiene Program, graduating with an AAS in Dental Hygiene and becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Missouri, while working in private practice. During the course of her Dental Hygiene education, she was voted, “Most Positive Dental Hygiene Student” and upon graduation with honors, she was also awarded the “Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler.” She is currently completing a BS in Health Services at Drury University, with a focus on Leadership Studies and continues to work in private practice. Throughout her educational career, she has been an active member of both the American Dental Assistants Association and the American Dental Hygienist’s Association. She has also been a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and served on the Dental Programs Advisory Committee. Lindsay joined the Dental programs as a full time member in 2009.
