Janet Sell, CDA, MA is the Dental Assisting Program Director and instructor at Ozarks Technical Community College.  Before becoming an instructor in the Dental Programs, she practiced as clinical and business dental assistant in the setting of two group practices in Springfield, Missouri. In 1980, Janet received a certificate in dental assisting. Since, she has continued her educational career and holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from Ozarks Technical Community College, and a Bachelor and Master's degree from Drury University, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Higher Education Leadership, and is currently enrolled at Lindenwood University completing a Doctorate Degree in Education. As a Certified Dental Assistant, Janet has served on many professional organization boards, including the Missouri Dental Assistants Association, Springfield Dental Assistants Society, and Missouri Dental Assisting Educators. Throughout the years, she has created, directed, and participated in numerous continuing education seminars for the dental team on local and state levels. Janet has been employed at Ozarks Technical Community College since 1999 and has enjoyed teaching in the dental assisting and hygiene programs.  Since 2005, Janet has served as a curriculum consultant for the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and has worked with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at University Central Missouri as an instructor in the Career Technical Education Department.

Rebecca Caceres is a graduate from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene while serving as the president of her class.  She worked as a registered dental hygienist in Indiana for nine years and served as a District Representative to the ADHA.  Rebecca moved to Springfield in 2000 and worked in a private practice for six years.  In 2006, she moved to Managua, Nicaragua to serve as a full time missionary.  She worked as a coordinator of medical/dental missions, healthcare education, and evangelism studies.  She traveled the country serving as an oral healthcare provider conducting dental clinics in the rural and impoverished areas of Nicaragua.  Rebecca joined the faculty of OTC in August, 2010 as a Dental Programs Instructor. She developed an opportunity for students to travel to Nicaragua and participate in a dental service mission trip annually. Rebecca accepted the position of Program Director in June, 2012 and enjoys being a part of the administration of the program and teaching. She received her Master of Organizational Leadership from Evangel University in May, 2014.  Rebecca also teaches dental courses to the community through the OTC Workforce Development department.  She is a member of the ADHA, MDHA, GSDHA, ADAA, ADEA, MCCA, and MOACTE.

Lisa Hunter, CDA, RDH, is a graduate from Drury University holding a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major with studies in Biology and Wellness Science. Lisa continued her education graduating Summa Cum Laude from Ozarks Technical Community College Dental with a Certification in Dental Assisting with Expanded Functions. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude in Dental Hygiene from Ozarks Technical Community College, and is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Upon graduating, she was voted Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association, “Most Outstanding Graduating Student.” Lisa has worked over 22 years in the dental field, and also as an educational consultant for area dental offices with Align Technologies. She has also served on numerous professional boards and committees; locally as past President of the Springfield Dental Hygienists’ Association and statewide as a Board of Trustee with the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association. Lisa volunteers her time with Children’s Charity Committee for over 13 years and Rare Breed Homeless Teen Shelter. She is a member of ADHA, MDHA, GSDHA, SDHA, ADEA, MCCA, and MOACTE. Lisa joined OTC Dental Programs in 2007. She is pursuing her Master of Science degree in Communication with specializations in Digital Technology and Public Health from Drury University.

Elaine Coates, CDA, RDH, MS graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM), in Monroe, LA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in May, 1992 and has worked in dentistry for over 20 years. She continued her education and received a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from National University in LaJolla, CA in June, 2010. Additionally, she received a certification to practice laser dentistry within the scope of a dental hygienist from the Academy of Laser Dentistry in 2007. She has worked in private practice and in the military as a dental hygienist and dental assistant throughout the United States, and while deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan.  Elaine continues her military duty by serving as an officer in the Army Reserves.  She joined OTC in 2012 as a Dental Programs Instructor, and enjoys teaching Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene students.

Sheila Hunter, CDA, RDH, BS graduated from OTC with an AAS in Dental Hygiene and received the Golden Scaler award for her class in 2004.  Sheila continued her education at UMKC and graduated in May, 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.  Sheila has worked in private practice since 1988 starting as the front desk receptionist.  She did on the job assistant training and studied on her own to take the Basic Skills Mastery exam in 1996 and the Dental Assistants National Boards to become a certified dental assistant in 2000.  Sheila has worked as a RDH for the past 8 years in private practice.  Sheila joined OTC Dental Programs in 2012. She is a member of ADHA, MDHA, ADEA and MCCA.

Christy Boyce, CDA, RDH graduated from OTC in 2008 with an Associate of Applied Science in dental hygiene and worked in dental offices for five years before coming back as an adjunct instructor in 2012, coming on full time in 2014.  She earned her Certified Dental Assistant credentials in 2013 and completed her expanded functions.  She is currently working on a Bachelor of Science degree in occupational education at the University of Central Missouri.  She is a member of GSDHA, MDHA, ADHA, ADAA, ADEA, and MCCA.
