Application deadline - April 1 - class starts in AugustThe OTC Practical Nursing-Table Rock program has received full approval by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. The OTC Practical Nursing-Table Rock program facilitates the students in becoming safe, conscientious healthcare professionals, committed to excellence and responsibility. Based on biological, physical and behavioral principles, the practice of nursing involves the prevention of illness, restoration of health, and the improvement of life and comfort. The OTC Practical Nursing-Table Rock program focuses on bedside care, with substantial clinical rotations, a short program length, and a fast-paced educational curriculum. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Practical Nursing will experience a faster than average job outlook and may be employed in a variety of work settings: nursing homes, schools, physician offices, home health, and some hospitals.
The OTC Practical Nursing-Table Rock program will prepare the students to:
- utilize the nursing process and the role of the practical nurse
- apply communication, accountability, appreciation of cultural diversity, and health care concepts related to patient care
- incorporate nursing skills necessary to care for patients
- understand pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nutritional aspects of health alterations
In accordance to Federal Regulations, each institution is required to provide pertinent information regarding Gainful Employment programs. The information includes general program information, cost, student debt, student completion (graduation) and job placement. Review the Gainful Employment data for your selected program of study.
All applicants are encouraged to attend a nursing advising session to learn what is required prior to and during the application process. Nursing program advising sessions are offered frequently and no appointment is necessary. Entrance into OTC's Practical Nursing program is highly competitive and completion of all requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
