MoWINs Grants: MoHealthWINs and MoManufacturingWINs
MoWINs is a Department of Labor grant-funded program to serve Trade Act participants as well as veterans, unemployed and underemployed individuals, and low-skilled persons in Missouri in health/services/ health sciences career pathways throughout the state. Missouri's 12 community colleges and one state technical college are participating in MoHealthWINs.
STEP 1: Are You Eligible?
To be determined eligible for the grant, students will need to visit the Missouri Career Center. Appointments are not necessary, but plan to spend a couple hours for your initial visit. The MCC is busiest during lunch hours, so you may want to plan your visit earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon. For directions or further questions, call: 417-887-4343

HEARING INSTRUMENT SCIENCE
This 1 1/2 year AAS degree program prepares students to assist clients with selecting, fitting, and maintaining hearing aides. The program is offered in an online hybrid format.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE
This 8 week program provides certification in cleaning and maintaining hospital facilities, as well as OSHA and CPR certifications.
Tentative Spring 2013 Schedule: This program will be offered in two separate sections:
January 14th-March 8th (Monday-Friday 7:30-12:30)
March 18th-May 10th (Monday-Friday 7:30-12:30)
Cost: Tuition $0 and no books to purchase! Students will only be responsible for fees (approximately $165).
Program Overview (7 credits total):
IMT 295 Building Maintenance (3 credits)
IMT 120 Industrial Safety (3 credits)
This course offers lecture/lab experiences that provide the student a solid foundation for continued study of Industrial Maintenance. Topics include a wide variety of safety and regulatory compliance sessions such as: First Aid, CPR, Electrical Safety, and Lock-out/Tag-out. OSHA and EPA regulations are also covered, as well as awareness of Environmental Safety and Health issues.
TEC285 Occupational Seminar (1 credit)
Instruction for this course includes career identification, self-assessment, resume development, preparation of cover letters, completion of applications for local jobs, learning the on-line employment application process, research of local companies, jobs available, and current salary ranges, job searching techniques and tools, interviewing skills, follow-up steps after the job interview and on-the-job performance expectations.
INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY
This 17 week program prepares students to enter the challenging field of integrated manufacturing, including automation and robotics. Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems are all featured.
Tentative Fall 2013 Schedule: Monday-Thursday 11-5pm
Cost: Tuition $0. Students will be responsible for books and fees.
Pay range for Missouri jobs in this field: $30,000-80,000
MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY
This 17 week program focuses on fabrication of parts from a wide variety of materials. Students will utilize hands-on learning to operate manual mills and lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, and CNC machines.

Cost: Tuition $0. Students will be responsible for books and fees.
Pay range for Missouri jobs in this field: $30,000-80,000
