Chancellor's Welcome

Welcome to Ozarks Technical Community College, an institution that truly takes its mission to heart. Whether through our technical certifications, associate degrees, community enrichment courses, or workforce development, our staff and faculty embrace our standing as the "community's college."

As the third largest community college in Missouri, more than 15,000 students chose our institution during the fall 2011 semester to enhance their educational opportunities and better their lives. Every year, our student population continues to grow, because we continue to offer what our community needs.

In addition to the OTC Springfield Campus, the OTC Richwood Valley Campus in Christian County creates greater access to higher education for more students. We also serve the citizens of southwest Missouri through the OTC Branson, OTC Waynesville, and OTC Lebanon Centers, as well as through OTC Online.  The new OTC Table Rock Campus is expected to open in the fall of 2013.

I am particularly enthusiastic about our workforce development programs, through which many area businesses and their employees receive the training they need to remain locally, nationally, and globally competitive. I feel a community college plays a major role in keeping its region's economy viable.

I take pride in our commitment to reach out to all segments of the community. Whether it is the first-time freshman, the returning student looking for an education to advance their career, or the student striving for a technical certificate to enter the workforce, we endeavor to educate anyone who has the will and desire.

On behalf of the board of trustees, faculty, and staff, I welcome you to experience Ozarks Technical Community College and see for yourself what we have to offer.

Sincerely,
Hal L. Higdon, Ph.D.
