About OTC Online Courses

Through the Office of Online Teaching and Learning (OTL), the College offers a wide variety of credited and non-credited online and hybrid courses designed for busy learners who cannot attend face-to-face courses or who simply prefer to learn in a digital environment. Online courses are 100% asynchronous* - students can participate anytime and anywhere they have access to a reliable Internet connection. OTC utilizes the Blackboard Learning Management System for all credited online and hybrid courses, and many non-credited courses. This modern learning tools allows online learners to complete coursework at convenient locations and times, to interact globally with their online classmates and instructors, and to complete a degree, diploma, certificate program or single course that enriches their lives and careers.

All online and hybrid credited courses follow the OTC academic calendar and require assignment submission deadlines throughout the semester to keep students on track.  The courses are taught by professional instructors who have strong academic credentials and special certifications to teach in an online learning environment.

*All credited online courses require at least one proctored (monitored) assessment, which may be administered at any OTC location (Springfield, Richwood Valley, Branson, Lebanon, Waynesville) or at an approved off-campus location that is convenient for the student, no matter how far away from an OTC campus, including other countries.  Typical off-site proctoring locations include other college or university campuses, public libraries, K-12 schools, and government or military education offices. Desired proctoring locations other than the above facilities must be pre-approved through the instructor and OTL.  Click here for additional information about the OTC proctoring requirement.

**Additional non-credited training courses are available through the OTC Continuing Education Center (CEC.) Click here to visit the CEC web page.

OTC Online and Hybrid Course Section IDs

Course section IDs help distinguish between seated, hybrid, and online courses.  A 'W' in the course ID designates an online course (e.g., BUS-110-W01) and an 'H' in the course ID designates a hybrid course (e.g. CHM-101-H101.)
