Individual & Group Mental Health Counseling
Individual and Group Counseling
Occasionally students encounter situations in their lives that affect the learning environment. When these situations arise, counselors are available to provide short-term counseling assistance, and, in some cases, referral to community resources for long-term help. Meeting individually with a professional counselor in a private setting can help students to clarify thoughts and feelings, develop problem-solving skills and coping strategies, and to construct a plan for the future. Students may also wish to participate in group counseling opportunities, which are made available each semester to those currently enrolled at OTC. Small groups (six to twelve individuals) may form around the topics of depression, test anxiety, study skills, life transitions, relaxation or grief. Additional topics will always be considered.
