The accreditation, approved earlier this year, is valid until Dec. 31, 2012.
“The Culinary faculty, led by department chair Lisa Gardner, has worked hard to build a quality program at OTC. An integral part of an excellent culinary program is ACF accreditation. We are very proud of our outstanding chefs and the culinary department at OTC and congratulate them on this accomplishment,” said Dr. Shirley Lawler, OTC’s Vice president of Academic Affairs.
The accreditation helps a culinary arts program ensure that the program has established high standards, developed efficient accountability and credibility, as well as offers a high level of professionalism and up-to-date practices to its students.
OTC is the only college in southwest Missouri to offer students an ACF-accredited culinary arts program.
